Which TSP fund has the best return in 2026?
Returns vary by month. Check the table above for the current YTD rankings through July 2026. Historically, the C Fund (S&P 500) and S Fund (small-cap) post the highest long-term returns but also carry the most short-term volatility. The G Fund always posts a positive return (never loses principal) but lags in bull markets.
What is the TSP expense ratio?
All five TSP core funds share the same administrative expense ratio: 0.059% (5.9 basis points) for fiscal year 2025. What are the five TSP core funds?
The five TSP core funds are: the G Fund (Government Securities — capital preservation, guaranteed return), the F Fund (Fixed Income — tracks the Bloomberg U.S. Aggregate Bond Index), the C Fund (Common Stock — tracks the S&P 500), the S Fund (Small Cap Stock — tracks the Dow Jones U.S. Completion TSM Index), and the I Fund (International Stock — tracks the MSCI EAFE Index). TSP also offers L Funds (lifecycle blends) that automatically combine these core funds.
How often are TSP fund returns updated?
TSP.gov publishes daily share prices. FedTools computes monthly returns from the prior month-end close to the current month-end close. This page reflects data through 2026-07-28. We update monthly after each month-end close is published.
How do I change my TSP fund allocation?
Log in to tsp.gov and use the "Interfund Transfer" option to move your existing balance between funds, or use "Contribution Allocation" to change where future contributions go. Interfund transfers are processed once per business day. There is no fee for reallocating.
