The I Fund tracks the MSCI EAFE Index (Europe, Australasia, Far East) — large and mid-cap stocks in 21 developed international markets. As of 2022, the TSP transitioned the I Fund to the MSCI ACWI IMI ex USA ex China ex Hong Kong Index, which excludes Chinese and Hong Kong stocks while broadening to emerging markets. The I Fund is NOT currency-hedged, so a weakening U.S. dollar boosts returns when converted back to dollars.
